The NICEIC is an accredited certification body set up to protect users of electricity against the hazards of unsafe and unsound electrical installations. It is the industry's independent electrical safety regulatory body. The NICEIC is a non-profit making body and a registered charity. It is not a trade association.

The NICEIC’s independence provides consumers, and public and private sector specifiers responsible for selecting electrical contractors, with confidence that by using NICEIC Approved Contractors they have the best available guarantee that the installation work will meet electrical safety requirements. The Roll of Approved Contractors can be accessed on the NICEIC website, which is updated monthly. A paper and CD-ROM version of the Roll are also available on request.
